January 10: Most Compelling Social Issue

archersangel: (USA sheep)

January 3: Favorite Musical Score and/or Trek Composer (Motion Film, Episode or Overall Series)
you can't go wrong with the trek movie theme that was later used for TNG. IMHO.

January 4: Favorite Command Team Relationship/ CO XO Dynamic
have to go with the team of kirk & spock.
something i didn't realize until this question came up. but except for TNG, all of the treks have had a human captain & an alien first officer/second-in-command/XO.
archersangel: i made this at iconmagic (trek)

i found it via [tumblr.com profile] captainofthenx02 where every day in january is a different topic. well, i'm no good at posting stuff like this daily so i'll do a couple when i remember now & then. see this post for the topics & consider posting your own answers on the journal site of your choice.

January 1: Favorite Trek Series (Television, Motion Film)
i guess they mean pick from either one? it's hard because i go back & forth on this, but if i have to pick i'd say probably VOY.

January 2: Favorite Novel/Pocket Book and/or Comic book and/or Comic strip and/or FanFiction
there's several that i like but i think i have to pick spock's world by diane duane. i was one of the first trek novels that i read & from what i recall of it, it was a great look at the (possible) history of a fictional planet. see this post on other trek novels i like.

TAG GAME: Characters who share the same personality as you.
If you don't know your personality type, take the test here. (if that one doesn't work try this one. or do a internet search to find one.)

Rules: Find out what characters share the same personality type as you here and list the characters that you find relevant below. Then tag friends and let them know you tagged them. i'm not tagging. do it if you want to.

Personality: ISTJ
Role: Inspector

ISTJs are quiet and reserved individuals who value loyalty and dependability above all else. They would rather work with facts than speculation, and they will put a great deal of energy into reaching a goal - as long as it makes sense to them. They prefer to work alone, but can be good team players when the situation calls for it.

Alexis Castle from Castle
Zoe Washburne from Firefly
Martin Crane from Frasier
Hermione Granger from Harry Potter
Spock from Star Trek
Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
T'Pol from Star Trek: Enterprise
(they have 7 of 9 for the VOY example. i would've thought they would put tuvok, since the other two main vulcans on the series were listed)

archersangel: (bored)
i say it's more of a serious cook meme.

as seen around.

Bold the ones you have and use at least once a year, italicize the ones you have and don't use, strike through the ones you have had but got rid of.

"I wonder how many pasta machines, breadmakers, juicers (dad got it & maybe used it once), blenders, deep fat fryers, egg boilers, melon ballers, sandwich makers, pastry brushes, cheese knives, electric woks, miniature salad spinners, griddle pans, jam funnels, meat thermometers (use it every time i cook meat or chicken), filleting knives, egg poachers, cake stands, garlic crushers, martini glasses, tea strainers, bamboo steamers, pizza stones (another thing my dad got), coffee grinders, milk frothers, piping bags, banana stands, fluted pastry wheels, tagine dishes, conical strainers, rice cookers, steam cookers, pressure cookers, slow cookers, spaetzle makers, cookie presses, gravy strainers, double boilers (bains marie), sukiyaki stoves, ice cream makers, and fondue sets languish dustily at the back of the nation's cupboards."

Embolden the ones you did before you were 11 ¾ (as far as you can remember!)
Italicise the ones you have done since then.

(childhood ends at 12? i beg to differ. *points at icon*)

1. Leave a comment to this post.
2. If requested, I will give you a letter (feel free to comment if you've already had a letter from elsewhere or don't want one).
3. Post the names of five fictional characters whose names begin with that letter, and your thoughts on each. The characters can be from books, movies, or TV shows

[personal profile] twistedchick  gave me E

j.r. ewing (dallas) rich. powerful. bastard. it should’ve been called the j.r. ewing show. the who shot j.r? story-line with the biggest thing at the time & i doubt they could’ve kept it it secret if that story went on today.

radcliff emerson (the amelia peabody mysteries) archaeologist husband of amelia. smart, tall, strong & very much in love with his wife. nicknamed the father of curses, not only for his language, but for his ability to “curse” any archaeological dig he is on to protect it from would be robbers. i picture dean cain every time i read one of the novels.

the enterprise (star trek: the original series) she is too a character! kirk’s true love. a demanding mistress, who nevertheless preformed her duty admirably.

dr. emmet brown (back to the future) hit his head one day and had a vision of the flux capacitor, which somehow made time travel possible. he apparently wanted to travel in time for no other reason than scientific curiosity. i would like to sse the back-story of how he met marty.

ezri dax (star trek: deep space nine) she was unprepared to get the dax symbiont, in more ways than one. but she adjusted in a process that was still going on when the show ended. which was no doubt helped by her training as a psychiatrist.
