General reading themes this year:
i don't think so.
How many books did you read this year? Any trends in genre/length/themes/etc?
47. if you count what i'm currently reading. but i DNF 4.
What are your top 3 books that you read this year for the first time?
i don't recall even half of the books i read. but i like the last few of the sano ichiro series by laura joh rowland
What's a book you enjoyed more than you expected?
The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the Real Count of Monte Cristo by Tom Reiss. i thought it would not be as interesting as it was. i think they're doing a movie based on it in france.
Which books most disappointed you this year?
probably the 4 i DNF.

What's the oldest book you read?
probably my current one; the lady in the tower by jean plaidy that was published in 1986.
What's the newest book you read?
a star is bored by byron lane. it was published in 2020

4. pompeii by robert harris (fiction), Astoria: John Jacob Astor and Thomas Jefferson's Lost Pacific Empire by by Peter Stark, Shopping, Seduction & Mr Selfridge by Lindy Woodhead

i finished up the bridgerton series which is regency romance. i will not be going back that genre.

because booklender folded up in may, i've had to start reading e-books
