not long ago i was reading an used book that smelled of perfume & now i have small, itchy bumps on the backs of my hands.
unfortunately, this is not the first time it's happened. it's the reason i can't use the soap in public bathrooms (note: i do wash off my hands with the hottest water available) and i can't look at clothes at the local goodwill any more (they now spray them with some kind of stuff. disinfectant?)
i may have mentioned in another post that i'm allergic to artificial scents, dyes & preservatives. usually my reaction is either a runny nose, watery eyes or a "tingling" or kind of itching around my nostrils & the tip of my nose. the worst reaction i had is on my one & one trip to washington d.c. where the left corner of my mouth was burning & the left side of my face swelled up (that's the side i was laying one) from the chemicals the motel used to clean the bedclothes. luckily we took some over the counter alergy pills with us & that helped a lot.
so for this current problem i've been taking over the counter allergy pills (which helps some) & using some kind of cortisone cream on be bumps. there's not much more that i can do, except wait until it runs its course.
