about this whole occupy wall street (which has spread to other cities) thing; "if i had the money, i'd print up t-shirts to hand out & they'd say; 'i occupied wall street and all i got was this lousy t-shirt.'"
which might be the only thing they'd get out of it. and since it's getting colder now, it might be good to layer their clothing.
seriously, they should've started this in spring. but then again, summers can be killer in the city.

there's a 5th die hard in the works, this time he goes to russia. my brother said; "send lawyers, guns & john maclaine" (explanation; it's modified song lyrics from this song about a guy who gets into all kinds of messes & asks his dad to "send lawyers, guns & money" to get him out of trouble.

speaking of die hard; while while watching die hard 2 a few months back my brother blurted out during the fight on the airplane sequence; "stewardess! stewardess! there's a man on the wing!"
(a reference to the old twilight zone episode staring wiliam shatner)

more on die hard; my brother once asked; "would you ever read the novel that die hard is based on?"
i said; "i don't think so. it doesn't seem as....interesting as the movie."
he said; "wait, a movie is better than the book? that's just backwards"

my brother saw this older woman on the news that had bright green eyeshadow, a pierced eyebrow & four rings in her right ear. he said: "just because you were a punk rocker in the '80s, doesn't mean you should still be a punk rocker in your 80's"

while watching the sg-1 episode grace sam is laying, injured, in an infirmary bed and jack asks; "need anything? magazine, yo-yo?"
my brother adds; complex math problem?
at the end of the episode he asks about the gas cloud the ship sam was on. if it was a living thing. i said that's what it was all about (meaning we're left hanging)
my brother said; i thought the hokey-pokey is what it was all about.

while watching the stargate: sg-1 episode the scourge (about killer bugs on an alien planet that can travel underground)
daniel is calling mitchell over the walky-talky which is attracting the bugs mitchell tells him: "requesting radio silence"
my brother says; "that's military for shut the f**k up"
a moment or so later (their talking is attracting the bugs) teal'c says to mitchell; "perhaps we should keep any unnecessary conversation to a minimum."
my brother says: "that's teal'c for shut the f**k up"

my brother watches grey's anatomy sometimes (i don't know why & neither does he) towards the end of one episode (in syndication) mark sloan & looking at lexie grey's ass. she catches him at it (i think they might have had some sort of relationship before) he smirks & she says "NO!" and walks away. my brother says; "the lesson would sink in if she hit him on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper"

my brother & i were watching mythbusters on netflix streaming & they were testing the myth of a car's stereo, if turned up all the way, could set off a certain type of russian rifle. well they get a car, outfit it with a serious stereo system, then paint blue flames one it. my brother mumbles; "next time on pimp my myth...."

while watching the stargate: sg-1 episode homecoming daniel talks about their job having lousy hours & constant peril. and jonas says; on the bright side, you get to travel a lot.
my brother said; "but you're only are allowed to use your miles on odd-numbered days"

while watching the shadows of p'jem (star trek: ENT)right after archer finds the transmitter in his gruel (he and t'pol are prisoners)
my brother says; "hey! did you find a prize in yours too?"

while watching the empire strikes back some time ago i said; "it's interesting that luke crashed almost in yoda's backyard, because that's a big planet."
my brother said that he didn't think it was just an accident. i asked; "you think the force had something to with it?" he said yes & i nodded at that. then he said; "so the question is; did he crash-land or was he forced down?"

some local group (lion's club, i think) is doing blood testing. you don't eat for 8-10 hours & give them $40 and they run a bunch of tests. for $7 more they have a doctor look at the results & send them to your home.
anyway, i asked my brother if that's something we should do. he said we shouldn't because of our bad veins. then he added; "we would be great vampire hunters. because they'd bite us & go; 'slurp! slurp! damn! i can't get anything!'"

today we were talking about GPS units (for some reason) & i mentioned that soon you can get one with yoda's voice to give directions. my brother said; "that would be confusing. (doing a sort of yoda voice) 'turn right at the next street you will'"

once my brother asked :"in the last episode of VOY that we watched (author, author) was that the same actor that played blon-ah's (how he pronounced it) father?"
i said; "who?"
he sighed and replied; "ok, be-lon-ah" he paused and added; "and her sister a-lon-ah."

i told my brother that there's a rumor of a 5th indiana jones movie to be set in the bermuda triangle. i said; "what could they find there? the lost city of atlantis?!"
he replied; "a better script for the 4th movie"

I've read the book -- the movies *are* better. All of them. It's written by a cop (or ex-cop) who knows his stuff but can't write an interesting sentence.
