a letter to george lucas

this was prompted by this bit of news.

dear mr. lucas;

just stop it already. ok, just stop. stop tweaking star wars and move on.

i've tried to defend you, thinking how it would be to make this universe that a lot of people love & want to play in. then have to follow it up 20 some years later with more movies. (i had a bad feeling that they wouldn't live up to expectations.) but i can't any longer.

i don't think you're doing this for the fans any more, just to either to stuff your pockets with money (don't you have enough?) or to boost your own ego. you're getting to be like the guy who scored the winning touchdown in the high school football championship & it's all he talks about 30 years later. we glad that you did it, but find something else to talk about please.

also stop directing movies, stop writing them and just produce. find a young film maker or two to mentor (preferably women because there needs to be more of them) and just kind of rest on your successes. maybe go to a convention (beside that star wars on in japan, is it?) every now and the. dragon con would collapse in a geekgasm if you went.

p.s. i hear you're planning a 5th indiana jones to make up for the mess that was the 4th one. stop with that too. and if you decided to make that labeuf(sp?) kid into another indy, i will come over there and smack you. you and speilberg if i have to.

p.p.s also i'm really hoping that this 3d fad will be over by 2012. so if you go ahead with this, you'll look kind of silly coming in after the trend.

I have a balance problem and don't even want to try to see a 3D movie after hearing about so many people getting sick at them. I really hope this 3D trend goes away fast!
