there's this LJ community in the spotlight this week called [livejournal.com profile] trashy_eats where people post their "trashy" food ideas & recipes.

from their community info page;

If you're unsure if your recipe is appropriate for our community ask yourself the following questions:

1. Is one of the ingredients cream of mushroom soup, grape jelly, velveeta or cereal?
2. In general, is it the sort of recipe one might find in one of those church cookbooks?
3. Are there less than 3 ingredients?
4. Did you invent the recipe yourself while you were a poor college student?
5. Could the recipe be classified as a "Can of Stuff With Stuff On Top"?
6. Do you eat it in secret?
7. Does it contain squirrel meat?

so that got me thinking; what do i eat that might be trashy?

i used to eat miracle whip/sprinkle cheese sandwiches.

get 2 pieces of white bread.
spread miracle whip (not mayo!) liberally on both pieces.
sprinkle kraft grated parmesan cheese on both pieces.
put both pieces together (filling sides touching, of course) & eat.

used to eat it at least twice a month. i haven't had it in years, but the last time i had it a few years ago it didn't taste the same.

another thing i used to eat was peanut butter, banana & tomato sandwiches (on white bread). no mayo, because that would be gross.

so is there anything that you eat that would be considered "trashy" or just kind of weird?

A few years back, my SIL and I discovered a "recipe" on the side of a box of Stove Top Stuffing: add sliced hot dogs.

OHHHH, it was good! *g*

I ate some strange stuff as a kid, like peanut butter spread on bologna and rolled up, or Hershey's Cocoa mixed in a Dixie cup with a little warm water and eaten with a spoon.
