more movie & tv trivia that might or might not be true*.
inspired by a prompt of mine getting filled; today's entry is about ghostbusters (1984) & ghostbusters 2.
for the original;
-When Louis Tully mingles with his party guests (commenting on the price of the salmon, and so on), the scene is one continuous shot, and almost entirely improvised.
-Gozer was also a name related to a documented haunting in England. The name Gozer appeared mysteriously throughout the Enfield Poltergeist house, written on walls and other things.
-The jail scene was filmed in a prison reported to be haunted, and the dailies had scratches all over with no apparent physical cause. Ivan Reitman was concerned about returning there, and the crew was very relieved to find enough footage to complete the scene without returning.
for the sequel;
-The kid who tells Ray that, according to his dad, the Ghostbusters are "full of crap" is played by Jason Reitman, son of director Ivan Reitman. Reitman's daughter Catherine Reitman plays the girl with the puppy in Egon's lab.
-The term "proton pack" was never officially used on screen until the Ghostbusters are in the subway tunnel and Egon says, "Before we go any further, I think we should get our proton packs."
-Venkman stops traffic as they cross the street. Dan Aykroyd says he has seen Bill Murray do that in real life. "He'll get out and direct traffic."
*because it comes from imdb & people can post whatever in the trivia section.
