about the same.

the most recent one was Anne Boleyn, A King's Obsession by Alison Weir. it'snot that good.

3) What is the best book you read in the past few years?
there's been a few; Charity and Sylvia: A Same-Sex Marriage in Early America by Rechel Hope Cleves, The Scarlet Sisters: Sex, Suffrage, and Scandal in the Gilded Age by Myra MacPherson, When Normal Blew Up: The Story of the People Who Died and the People Who Lived On by Joni Foster & American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare: The Life and Times of Gy*sy Rose Lee by Karen Abbott.

4) Do you read more than one book at a time, or just one?
just one. unless there's one with behind the scenes of a movie or TV show that is mostly pictures & briefe stories.

5) How big is your to-be-read pile (or list)?

I heard about When Normal Blew Up on NPR and was afraid I just could not handle it with so much bad stuff going on right now. Did you find it hard to read?

it was sad, but not depressing.
there's a brief description of remains, but not graphic if i recall. it's mostly about how a traumatic event changes the people touched by it, even if they don't realize how much. and trying to understand the why of what happened.
