chartreuse vs puce

my brother confuses the two, probably because they kind of rhyme. chartreuse is yellowish green & puce is a brownish purple.

puce often makes me think of the 1988 TV movie dance til dawn with a bunch of 1980s TV actors; christina applegate, alyssa milano, alan thicke, kelsey grammer & others. plus a before he was famous mathew perry. the popular girl (applegate) heads the prom comity & decides the prom theme is paris in puce. she wears a dress of that color & wants the whole school gym decorated in puce.

and for some reason i remember the color as being more towards magenta (the purple version, not the pink) but then again, i only saw it once like on lifetime (probably after perry started on friends) a long time ago .
