why febuary has 28 days
basically the romans had a 10 month calendar & ignored most of the winter because it had nothing to do with the harvest. but that didn't match up with the lunar year so sometimes you had winter in june. so they'd add on a few weeks now and then to catch up.
when they finally added 2 months to even things out they wanted all of the months to have an odd number of days (because they considered evens to be unlucky) but that wouldn't work out. so since feb was then month to honor the dead, it got stuck with the fewest days & an even number on top of that.
