the students (& maybe a teacher) make fun of you because you're wearing blue and they are wearing green.
the next day the students (& maybe a teacher) make fun of you because you're wearing green & they are wearing blue.
you have a quiz today, you had a quiz yesterday. you will have a quiz tomorrow.
today is supposed to be pizza day, but the cafeteria lady insists yesterday was pizza day. pizza day is fluid.
taco day, however, is a fixed construct.
there is never anyone in the library. until a teacher insists people do a report on outer mongolia. then everyone is in the library.
the bathrooms all smell like smoke & have a permanent haze. even though no one has smoked in them since 1986.
