in short: i hated it & quit reading it after about 70 pages.
it was like walking through hip-deep mud thinking that round the next turn in the road you will find dry ground to walk on. but after a while you say f**k it & call for someone with a rope to pull you out.
the only other book i read by lindsey davis: time to depart (one of the marcus didius falco mysteries) was ok, nothing special, but nothing like this. it kind of maks me want to advoid other books by thins author in the future. (if i can remember the name)
for other books i didn't like ( several that i did) see the stick post at the top of this blog.
