today my brother & i decided to try some gelato from breyers the vanilla caramel & the raspberry cheesecake in particular. they're good, nice & creamy. but at nearly $5.00 for about 30 ounces, it's not something worth getting often. IMHO.
i hear that talenti brand gelato is supposed to be really good, may have to give that a try sometime. we had the salted caramel things on a stick that are dipped in dark chocolate, but the dark chocolate kind of blocks the gelato & i can't stand dark chocolate anyway.
on friday we went to panera bread for a loaf of bread to make sandwiches & were temped my the various baked goods. so we decided that after were were done with our shopping for the day, we'd get some stuff. we eventually decided to get four things & divide each one among both of us: a cheese pastry (not too bad), a double fudge brownie (very dry. my brother wondered if it would've been better if we had it earlier instead of saving it until after dinner), a strawberry rhubarb mini cake (a lot of brown sugar crumbles on top & not much stuff in it. which is probably good, i suspect that i wouldn't like rhubarb) & a white chocolate raspberry mini cake (very moist & flavorful. the best out of the four)
panera bread is good (usually) but expensive. it's a little over $2.00 for a chocolate cupcake! which was smaller than their carrot cupcake (i guess carrots are cheaper than chocolate) the one good thing they have going on is that you can add most any of their cookies/pastries to a meal for 99 cents.
