MASH (TV) fic & fill update

archersangelSomeone passing trough, Red Cross Worker, maybe a reporter, had left some board games behind. Monopoly, Clue, Parcheesi & Chinese checkers. Although only God knew why they were carting them around in the first place. It didn't matter that the boards were "Held together by tape & prayers." (according to Father Mulcahy) or that they were missing many pieces, Hawkeye & B.J. painted lumps fished out of a vat of gravy from the mess tent for Chinese checker pieces, everyone was excited for something new to do.
A week later Colonel Potter confiscated the games "for the good of the unit". Houlihan loudly & frequently accused Winchester of cheating in Monopoly, he was the banker (of course). Some nurses who played Parcheesi with a couple of guys from the motor pool claimed the men had used loaded dice. Klinger had said that Radar had used his 6th sense to figure out the killer in Clue, which Radar angrily denied. All in all, several friendships were in danger, one engagement was broken off & at least half of the camp were not speaking to each other.
Everyone eventually realized it was better to read the same old books, re-read letters from home and month-old copies of Stars & Stripes. Certainly quieter anyway.
