not by bread alone
Mar. 15th, 2018 06:36 pmmy local wal-mart is such a flop.
last year i saw irsh soda bread, but didn't pick any up. this year i was actively looking for it. at the start of march i asked at the bakery, but was told that if they didn't have it at that time, they most likely won't have it. i had just resigned myself to not getting any of it this year when i found some on the discount bread self on monday. and then i see some on the seasonal baked goods shelf near the front entrance!
ive been looking every time i've gone the past few weeks & no one who works there has a clue of what's in their store, much less in their section. if there was a cheap option that was close to me, i wouldn't bother with wal-mart.
as to the bread itself, it's ok. at times it tastes like rye, but other times it doesn't. it is a lot different than the irish soda bread i had from a local-ish restaurant a few years ago. that one was a lot darker & sweeter. maybe it had molasses?
