i love L.A.?
Jul. 1st, 2010 11:12 amone year ago my brother & i were out in los angeles for the first day of anime-expo. we had arrived for "day 0" because we pre-registered for our badges. we had gotten sunburns because we didn't bring sun screen & i didn't take a hat. d'oh! they have a "premium package" now, for about twice the money you can go though a express lane. plus you get a ticket to one of their shows, some food vouchers for some kind of food festival & other stuff. our feet & legs were killing us because we had to walk like 8 blocks down to the convention center from our hotel & then 8 blocks back.
the next day we get a walking map to find a drug store. damn thing was off by a few blocks, but we got there for aloe gell to put on the sunburs & a big hat for me. over all the thing was a disappointment, people in the con feedback said previous years were better. figures.
TV crews were slowly gathering across the street from the convention center. we thought they were the for a piece on the convention, but were there for the michael jackson memorial which was to take place on the following tuesday in the staples center. silly us!
BTW that looks like such a small place. it must be like the tardis(sp?) it's bigger on the inside.
for more on our (mis)adventures see the anime-expo '09 & expo report tags at my blogspot blog.
(start with the older stuff at the bottom, makes more sense that way)
