another random star trek thought
Aug. 10th, 2009 10:11 pmi was watching the commentary of star trek: the final frontier with with william shatner (who directed) & his daughter liz (who wrote a book about his directing efforts) and something comes up during the scene where sybok reveals spock's pain. it's at his birth, he father looks at him & says; "so human." shatner said that nimoy had a problem with that because he felt that spock had come to terms with his dual heritage. but i think his pain was something else.
i think it was that he felt that his father didn't approve of him. that he wasn't "vulcan" enough for him. even though sarek admitted, in a roundabout way, that he was wrong to oppose spock decision to enlist in starfleet spock probably still felt that he didn't measure up.
