friday 5; fandoms
1. What fandom(s) do you follow on LiveJournal or Dreamwidth?
i never followed much. most of the people i subscribed to were sg-1 or star trek fans though.
2. Where else do you follow those fandoms?
just DW & LJ. i belonged to the startrek.com forums before they shut down & thesyfy scifi.com forums before they did the same. i lurked the gateworld forums
3. Have you ever met up with fannish friends?
no.
4. When there's a question on a 'find a fic' community, are you likely to help find the fic or do you hope someone else will know it?
i do not belong to any of those communities.
5. Did you customize/tweak your LJ or DW home page or are you using one of the basic options?
i did a little on DW. some colors of text & the picture in the header. the last is the reason i don't change my DW like i do my LJ, i want to have an option for a header picture & it's hard to figure out which ones have that.

SG-1 was my first real online fandom. I was a Star Trek fan before I knew the term, and a Doctor Who fan, but SG-1 is the first place where I really connected with fellow fen online.

i ended up lurking at lj because i was looking at a post of jack & daniel fanfic and many of them moved to lj because some people were so anti fanfic they didn't even want to see the post title in the forum.
i commenting anonymously on blogs and the sg-1 five things community & then with an open thing for a few years before upgrading to a free account in aug. 2016.
