Sadly, Carole did pass away in the latter part of October. A total shock to all of us who were her friends and fans. She had had scheduled surgery in August and unrelated complications developed, leading to her death. I had talked to her a few weeks before her surgery—her usual cheerful self—and was looking forward to our annual holiday chat.
